Anyone have any experience with http://www.digitalmusician.net/? It got a good writeup in Computer Music magazine.

I think it's a little odd that you have to register just to see the software compatibility chart. From what I gather, they are essentially acting as the musicians' equivalent of teleconferencing. I bet this could be done without using a third-party server as a middleman, but maybe this is the only group to write a plug-in for that feature.

Looks like you have to pay for an account to transfer high-quality audio files directly to your project mates; otherwise, you're exchanging MP3s as audio tracks for mixing... which is what people can do already without a third party. Seems like a good forum for finding other musicians, but otherwise, it's hard to judge the unique features of their service without paying for them.
